Lauren

Thanks for the lovely comment. Yes it was great seeing the BBC mini series of Pride and Prejudice, I watched the original screening, which was great and have had it on VHS and then DVD, yet to get the blue ray though! It is one of my staple viewings for cheering me up when I'm feeling a bit blue!

I have seen The Jane Austen Book Club too. Have you seen the ITV version of Persuasion 2007 and you might also like Lost in Austen and Miss Austen Regrets.

Hello again!

I love it that you've seen the BBC mini-series of P&P. I loved those! I watched then a dozen times at least, and they are also what got me reading the book as a teenager.

I took a Jane Austen class in college in which we did nothing but read her novels, have lengthy blackboard discussions on them, and write essays. We read a great deal about her life, too.

And that's when I fell in love with Anne Elliott - for her common sense, yes, but most of all for her delightful sense of humor.

Great post! Thanks for linking.

- Lauren

PS If you haven't seen The Jane Austen Book Club (movie) - please watch it! It's lovely. One of my favorites.
